Fahim got in touch with us near enough a year before his wedding. He was a huge fan of our work and has always followed our journey through social media and through weddings that we have done for his family and friends. We were given the challenge to capture both Fahim and Sharmin’s Mendhi along with covering both sides on the wedding day. They also wanted to wrap it all up with a post photoshoot in Italy, Venice.

After having an in-depth consultation we understood that Sharmin was a bit camera shy, which presented us with a huge task to make her feel comfortable on her big day. As events progressed, we built a report with Sharmin – this helped bring the best out of her.

A good memory of working with them would be that we had great fun with lots of banter.

Capturing the Mendhi & Wedding

First stop was Sharmin’s Mendhi. We started with a shoot before guests arrived and this helped us to understand her a little better. We managed to get Sharmin out of her comfort zone to pose for the camera. Fahim’s mendhi was up next and what can we say, he was full of confidence and nailed it without a sweat.

The wedding day presented a huge challenge. We had booked the venue for the pre-ready shots and a couple’s shoot before the guests arrived. The timing here was crucial as we always knew that guests could walk in at any time.

Both Sharmin and Fahim went back to their homes where we captured them leaving. For Sharmin, this was her last time at her family home and it was very emotional for her and the family. We captured these moments and continued throughout the rest of the day with amazing results.

Overcoming obstacles

The wedding day presented us with many obstacles. One problem that stood out is when we were booked to go back to both Fahim and Sharmin’s house after the pre-shoot. The task was to have two teams to cover both Fahim’s house and Sharmin’s house while also having someone at the venue to capture the décor and guest arrival.

We managed to do this by separating the teams between each task and have Tarik to stay back at the venue to capture all the decor. Just in the nick of time before any guests started arriving.

A shoot in Venice

After wrapping up in the UK, we were booked in to fly to Italy where we met up and captured some stunning shots around Venice. We were presented with numerous challenges because it was a tourist destination. This meant that getting a shot without people walking around was difficult and secondly, we had sunset approaching very fast.
